Rick Simpson Hemp Oil (RSO)

Hemp Or THC Oil is named after its eponymous creator, Rick Simpson, which we shorten to “RSO” is a marijuana extract often touted as a miraculous cure which has a wide variety of often startling health benefits. Rick Simpson Hemp Oil has been extremely clear exactly which solvent to use & although other alternatives can be made with other alcohols such as grain solvents or a lesser percentage alcohol, there are benefits to sticking to the original Rick Simpson recipe.

The cannabis oil we make is thus prepared and made exactly the same way as the original Rick Simpson protocol. A cannabis concentrate, RSO is a highly-concentrated full-spectrum THC oil (often applied as a tincture) which can be made from both the Indica and the Sativa strains of the cannabis plant.

The Rick Simpson Oil / (RSO) is a Medical Cannabis protocol that can inhibit cancer growth over 90 days. Please view the short video below, as an introduction to Rick Simpson.

Who Is Rick Simpson?

Rick Simpson is an engineer from Canada and the creator of the world’s most acclaimed medical cannabis protocol, known simply as the Rick Simpson Oil or RSO. In 2003, ‘the godfather of cannabis oil’, discovered three unusual bumps on his nose, cheek, and chest, which were later diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma, a non-melanoma form of skin cancer.

At the time, Simpson recalled a radio report about a 1975 study that found that medical cannabis had reduced cancerous lung tumours in mice and it was this study that inspired him to apply oil with very high levels of THC to the cancerous spots. After a few days, the basal cell carcinoma disappeared and never returned.

Simpson was already familiar with the healing powers of medical cannabis, which he had been using to treat post-concussion syndrome following a severe head injury. Not only did medical cannabis improve his cognitive processes but it also balanced his weight, blood pressure and healed arthritis in his knees.

What Is Rick Simpson Oil/ RSO?

Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) is the most concentrated cannabis oil a person can consume and requires ingesting 60 grams of RSO over 90 days. This whole plant extract oil contains a very high percentage of THC (around 60 to 90 percent) and, depending on the strain of cannabis used for the extract, very little CBD. Along with THC and CBD, RSO also contains healthy fatty acids, terpenes, and the minor cannabinoids that work in symbiosis as a potent medicine. This theory that combinations of cannabinoids working in unison have a greater effect than the sum of their individual cannabinoids is known as the Entourage Effect.

What Are The Potential Benefits Of Rick Simpon Oil (RSO)?

RSO cannabis oil is perhaps most used as an alternative to cancer treatments. When our endocannabinoid system becomes unbalanced, we experience health problems like stress, insomnia, illness and disease, including cancer. Ingesting medical cannabis allows the plant’s cannabinoids to mimic the natural compounds in our body and bind to our CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors, helping the body function properly again.

Cannabis oil has also been used to treat a variety of other health issues including asthma, multiple sclerosis, anxiety, depression, inflammation, and a variety of other conditions. The reason people feel high when using RSO cannabis oil is that THC activates the CB1 receptor within the brain, providing a feeling of euphoria, which could be seen as a benefit or not.

What Is The Difference Between RSO And CBD Oil?

Although both oils are derived from the cannabis plant, there are different classifications of the plant. CBD oil is generally derived from hemp, which contains less than 0.3% THC and is non-psychoactive. The RSO is derived from the Indica or Sativa strains, which are very psychoactive and contain 35% or more THC.

Although CBD is not considered as important as THC for anti-cancer activity, CBD has been shown to reduce tumour growth and progression in cancers as diverse as breast, lung, and colon cancer. Research into CBD continues to develop and an October 2020 review from a team of researchers in Bulgaria describes the effects of CBD on different cancer cells and how CBD works synergistically with conventional cancer treatments.

What Is The History Of RSO?

After Simpson cured his own skin cancer, he originally started sharing his RSO for free with people who also suffered from skin conditions, including skin cancer, psoriasis, and third-degree burns. But soon he was sharing it with people who came to him with tumours inside the body and he found he had the same success. He has said: “I consider myself just one of many who have found a way to cure cancer and I do not claim that it was me who found the cure. Still, it does appear that I am the first to supply this medication to vast numbers of patients to treat their cancers and other conditions in a more effective and sensible way.”

In 2008, a documentary called Run From The Cure (see video below) was made by Rick Simpson and filmmaker Christian Laurette depicting Simpson’s journey with medical cannabis, the individuals it’s treated – including a man who was given two months to live but became cancer-free following the RSO protocol – and the difficulties Simpson has encountered with the Canadian legal system in order to get medical cannabis to the people who need it.

Simpson has spoken frequently over the years about the damaging side-effects of many traditional pharmaceutical treatments, including his own suicidal feelings created by the medications prescribed to him for his original head injury, and the need for global governments to repeal anti-cannabis laws. He says that access to medical cannabis is a natural right and that it is ‘the greatest medicine on the planet’.

What Is The RSO Protocol?

The protocol involves consuming 60 grams of RSO over 90 days. This is an exceptionally large amount of cannabis oil so it’s best to increase the dose gradually to avoid adverse effects. It usually takes the average person about 90 days to ingest the full 60-gram treatment.

Week one: Start with three doses, around the size of half a grain of rice, per day. Take them under your tongue and hold them for 60 seconds before swallowing. Take these doses every morning, midday, and around one hour before bed.

Week two-five: Double your dose every four days, maintaining the three doses per day schedule. By now you should have developed your tolerance.

Week five-twelve: Now you want to start consuming one gram per day, split across three doses until the entire 60 grams of oil is consumed or you complete your 90-day plan.

Week twelve onwards: Seduce to a maintenance dose, which is one-two grams per month, usually taken as one-two drop before bedtime.

What Are The Potential Side-Effects?

Patients starting an RSO protocol should plan for side effects, which tend to be greater during the first three to four weeks. The most common side effect is sleepiness and sedation, with sleep quality being an important aspect of the healing process. Once tolerance is built, most patients report few to no negative side effects.

High doses of THC can also cause increased heart rate, anxiety, dizziness, nausea, and difficulty with concentration. A few questionable studies show that THC may be linked to paranoia, low blood pressure, depression, issues with sleeping or irritability, and even impaired memory or bodily functions. A 2007 study claimed in a clinical trial that THC did not have any significant effect on ongoing and paroxysmal pain, allodynia, quality of life, anxiety and depression scores, and functional impact of pain. However, there is more recent research that suggests otherwise and is not directly, or more disturbingly indirectly, funded by the pharmaceutical industry.

It is also important to watch this documentary. This is Rick's first documentary, released in 2008 on the internet. This film documentary woke up the world regarding the curing of cancer, among other conditions, with Cannabis THC oil.
This documentary brought attention to bringing CBD Oil to the market legally as well.
THC is still not legal, but today it is in a few countries and a few states in the united states.

Medical Cannabis: Real Patients. Real Stories.

Medical Cannabis: Patients Share Their Experiences with Chronic Illness and Pain

Medical cannabis continues to be one of the most discussed alternative therapies for people living with chronic illnesses. While scientific research is still ongoing for many conditions, thousands of patients report that cannabis has significantly improved their quality of life. In this collection of personal testimonies, individuals from different backgrounds explain how medical cannabis has helped them manage pain, reduce their reliance on prescription medications, and regain their independence.

Living with Constant Pain

Many of the patients interviewed suffer from long-term medical conditions, including systemic arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease), scoliosis, osteoarthritis, spinal injuries, and chronic back pain. Several also describe living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following traumatic events.

For many of them, daily life had become dominated by pain, fatigue, limited mobility, and sleep problems. Some explain that there were days when simply getting out of bed or performing normal activities felt impossible.

Reducing Dependence on Prescription Drugs

A recurring theme throughout the interviews is frustration with conventional pain medications. Several patients describe years of treatment with opioid painkillers, muscle relaxants, sleeping pills, and anti-anxiety medications.

Although these drugs often provided temporary relief, many participants say they experienced significant side effects, including mental fog, drowsiness, nausea, fatigue, and reduced ability to work or enjoy everyday life. Some felt they were taking multiple medications simply to counteract the side effects of other prescriptions.

After beginning medical cannabis therapy, many report that they were able to reduce—or in some cases completely discontinue—their use of pharmaceutical pain medications under medical supervision.

Improved Quality of Life

Rather than describing cannabis as a cure, most participants focus on improvements in daily functioning.

Patients report that medical cannabis helped them:

Reduce chronic pain.

Improve sleep quality.

Relax tight muscles.

Increase mobility.

Improve appetite.

Reduce anxiety.

Maintain clearer thinking compared with certain prescription medications.

Return to work and participate in family life.

Several individuals explain that better sleep alone dramatically improved how they felt during the following day.

Finding the Right Treatment

Patients also describe learning that different cannabis products can produce different effects. Some prefer edible products before bedtime because they provide longer-lasting relief during the night. Others choose vaporized or inhaled cannabis for faster symptom control during the day. Some mention selecting products that contain higher levels of CBD when they want pain relief without feeling mentally impaired.

According to these personal experiences, finding the right product often required experimentation under medical guidance.

Access to Medical Cannabis

Several interviewees discuss the importance of having legal access to medical cannabis. They explain that obtaining a medical cannabis card allowed them to purchase products from licensed dispensaries, grow cannabis for personal medical use where permitted, or receive assistance from caregivers.

Some also describe how professional dispensaries made them feel safe and comfortable, contrasting those experiences with places they felt appeared unregulated or intimidating.

Recovering Independence

One of the strongest messages throughout the interviews is the desire to regain control over life.

Patients explain that reducing pain allowed them to continue running businesses, caring for family members, spending time with grandchildren, returning to work, and participating more actively in their communities. For them, symptom management was about much more than pain relief—it meant recovering a sense of independence and dignity.

Personal Experiences, Not Universal Results

The individuals featured in these interviews emphasize that their experiences are personal. While many describe substantial improvements after using medical cannabis, responses can vary from person to person depending on the condition being treated, the type of cannabis product used, dosage, and individual biology.

Medical cannabis is increasingly being studied for chronic pain and other medical conditions, but patients should always discuss treatment options with qualified healthcare professionals and follow the medical regulations that apply in their country.

Conclusion

The stories presented in these interviews illustrate why many patients advocate for greater access to medical cannabis. Although it is not portrayed as a universal solution, many participants believe it has provided symptom relief where conventional treatments were either ineffective or caused unacceptable side effects.

For these individuals, medical cannabis represents more than a medication—it has become an important tool for improving daily life, restoring independence, and helping them manage chronic medical conditions more effectively.

Study Shows Cannabis Shrinked Aggressive Brain Cancer Tumor

Medical Cannabis May Enhance Cancer Treatment, Researchers Suggest

Researchers at the University of London have investigated whether compounds found in cannabis could improve cancer treatment. Their findings suggest that purified cannabinoids may help reduce tumor growth and could potentially make certain cancer therapies more effective.

According to a study published in the International Journal of Oncology, cannabinoids showed promising anti-tumor activity. The researchers found that when highly purified cannabinoids were used alongside chemotherapy, the combination destroyed cancer cells more effectively in their experimental models than chemotherapy alone. If these findings continue to be supported through further research, combining cannabinoids with chemotherapy could allow some patients to receive lower doses of chemotherapy.

Reducing the amount of chemotherapy required may help lessen many of its well-known side effects, such as nausea, fatigue, hair loss, and general physical discomfort. It is important to note that the treatment examined in the study involved concentrated, purified cannabinoids under controlled conditions. The researchers did not conclude that simply smoking marijuana produces the same effects.

Access to cannabinoid-based treatments varies from country to country because laws surrounding medical cannabis differ around the world. As a result, some patients may not currently have access to therapies being investigated in clinical research. The publication also noted that numerous laboratory and animal studies have demonstrated anti-tumor effects of THC and other cannabinoids across a variety of cancer models. These encouraging results have provided the scientific basis for conducting clinical studies involving human patients to better understand their safety and effectiveness. While the research is promising, further clinical trials are needed before definitive conclusions can be made about the role of cannabinoids in cancer treatment. Those interested in learning more are encouraged to read the original study published in the International Journal of Oncology.

What is Rick Simpson Oil? Your complete guide to RSO

Rick Simpson Oil, called RSO for short, is one of the most versatile and lauded cannabis innovations—an oil created by Rick Simpson, a Canadian engineer and cannabis advocate who was radicalized to cannabis activism by a work accident that led to various health issues.

The story goes that he was able to resolve his health issues with RSO, a dark, tar-like cannabis extract that straddles the line of concentrate, edible, and topical. In short: There’s very little it can’t do, and a lot it can do for both patients and stoners. Here’s everything you need to know about RSO.

What is RSO?

Put simply, RSO is an oil derived from cannabis. But rather than a solvent extract that strips trichomes from buds, RSO contains all the cannabinoids, terpenes, and additional compounds of the whole cannabis plant.

The extraction process is complex and fairly long, similar to making a tincture. It’s typically near-black in color, and, admittedly, doesn’t taste great due to its high amount of plant matter (it uses the whole plant).

RSO was created as a medicinal therapeutic for cancer and other chronic health conditions, like MS and asthma. While Rick Simpson no longer produces the oil himself, it remains a crucial ingredient in the treatment plans of patients across North America.

Rick Simpson’s story

Rick Simpson wasn’t looking to become a marijuana icon. He was a Canadian engineer working at a hospital in 1997, tasked to work on some asbestos-covered pipes in a boiler room. The poor ventilation and toxic fumes caused him to pass out and fall off his ladder, after which he was taken to the emergency room.

He developed tinnitus and dizzy spells soon after, and no prescribed medication seemed to help. Despite its illegality and against the advice of his doctor, Simpson began using medical marijuana with great results in reliving his symptoms.

In 2003, he was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. By then, Canada had legalized cannabis for medicinal purposes, but it was hard for Simpson to find a doctor who supported his use. A 1975 study in the The Journal of the National Cancer Institute showed how cannabis and its compounds inhibited tumor growth in mice, inspiring him to create RSO.

He has always maintained that applying RSO to his cancer growth and leaving it bandaged for four days cured him of cancer, but this has not been independently verified.

Simpson began producing the oil en masse and distributing it to thousands of patients for free. In 2009, his property was raided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and thousands of cannabis plants were confiscated.

To escape legal persecution, Simpson now lives in Croatia and maintains a website for his RSO recipe, dosing guide, and books. In 2018, he suffered a stroke and has since receded from the public but continues to advocate for RSO and medical cannabis.

Benefits of RSO

Despite Rick Simpson’s near-miraculous recovery from cancer and tinnitus, cannabis’ Schedule I status means the scientific community lacks consistent research to back up these claims. As more and more states legalize adult-use cannabis, however, more data becomes available.

There have been promising reports that attest to RSO’s efficacy, such as a 2013 article showing that the use of RSO severely decreased the leukemic blast cell count in a 14-year-old terminal patient, with no toxic side effects.

Anecdotally, RSO has helped patients manage conditions such as multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, cancer, insomnia, chronic pain, and asthma, among many others.

As an incredibly potent THC product, RSO offers potential therapeutic effects, such as pain relief and appetite stimulation, and it can aid with sleep aid and nausea. But because studies haven’t been done, we can’t guarantee that RSO will impart these benefits.

A 2021 study indicated that while many cancer patients use cannabis in conjunction with cancer treatments, their primary care teams lacked insight on how to integrate cannabis into a regimen. Clearly, much more research needs to be done on how best to use RSO to amplify treatment.

Rick Simpson Oil for cancer treatment

Rick Simpson was motivated to create RSO by his own cancer diagnosis. His recipe is based on creating a product that produced the same results as a 1975 study, which showed cannabis killing cancer cells in mice.

Simpson has said he cured his skin cancer by using RSO topically, but that it can be taken orally to address internal cancers as well. This claim has not been independently verified, but in the years since RSO was invented, thousands of patients have used it to address symptoms and improve their quality of life.

Cancer patients seeking to use RSO should always first consult their primary care doctor to discuss their options.

RSO for back pain

One of the most common uses for RSO, and cannabis in general, is chronic pain. Back pain is one of the most common forms of physical pain, with as much as 80% of people experiencing it at some point in life.

RSO recipes typically call for high-THC and indica-dominant cannabis (although CBD-rich options do exist), and the final product is highly intoxicating, hence the gradual dosage increase to prevent too strong of a high. THC binds with CB1 receptors in the endocannabinoid system, most of which are concentrated in the brain and nerve cells. When THC binds to these nerve receptors, the sensation of pain lessens.

Is RSO dangerous?

Despite its high concentration of THC, no amount of RSO will cause an overdose, death, or lasting side effects. Risks associated with taking RSO are the same as taking a high dose of any cannabis product, such as an edible, concentrate, or more of any product than one is comfortable with—namely, getting too high, and having to wait for the effects to wear off.

RSO purchased from a dispensary has been lab-tested for solvents, pesticides, mold, and fungi, so you can rest easy that you’re getting a clean product.

If you choose to make RSO at home, there are somewhat dangerous steps in its preparations, such as burning off an ethanol solvent, which is flammable. Some other solvents used can be explosive or produce fumes. It’s also possible that not all the alcohol will be separated from the oil before ingestion.

If you are ever unsure about the quality of your homemade RSO, source it from a licensed dispensary. Or we can help you also with this.

Where can I get Rick Simpson Oil?

Since Rick Simpson Oil contains THC, you can only find it at licensed dispensaries in states with adult-use cannabis or medical marijuana. However, not all dispensaries carry RSO, as it is not as popular, nor affordable, as other forms of cannabis. We can help you with this.

How much does RSO cost?

Relative to a pack of gummies or an eighth of flower, RSO is expensive. Prices vary state to state and county to county based on local tax laws, but the general range for RSO is $35–70 a gram. This may seem comparable to other cannabis concentrates, but patients need 60 grams to follow the recommended RSO regimen—that’s at least $2,100!

How to use RSO

The two most common ways to consume RSO are orally and topically. Rick Simpson himself used it as a topical to cure his skin cancer, although it’s been said his physician did not condone and cannot confirm this as a cure.

How long does RSO take to work?

RSO requires weeks to acclimate to without intoxication. Results may be felt within a few days, but most report significant differences in symptoms once they have reached the one-gram-per-day threshold, which may take up to five weeks, depending on the individual.

For skin ailments

If using topically, apply a dab of RSO to the skin site and cover with a band aid or bandage to ensure absorption. Reapply every other day.

For internal conditions

The other popular way to address internal conditions, such as physical pains, immunity conditions, and other illnesses, is to ingest RSO. This requires a large amount of RSO as well as a dosing system that requires weeks to acclimate to the high doses needed for treatment (more below). We recommend speaking to a doctor or medical professional familiar with RSO to discuss what works best for you.

Our guide here is based on consuming 60 grams of RSO in 90 days, broken up into weeks, as Rick Simpson recommends on his website. Keep in mind that this hasn’t been reviewed by medical professionals.

Side effects of RSO

Following a gradually increasing regimen of RSO is your best bet for avoiding potential side effects, such as sedation or dizziness. RSO is an incredibly potent product, and some consumers may feel uncomfortable if the dose is too high.

It’s possible to negate the intoxicating effects of THC by adding CBD-rich flower to the recommended dosing guide below. Many patients attest that the effects of RSO are largely positive, mitigating pain, nausea, and sleeplessness, among other symptoms.

Can you smoke or dab RSO?

Since RSO is an oil that retains some degree of plant matter, yes it can be smoked! But squirting a dollop directly in your bong or pipe will only lead to a sticky, sappy mess.

The best way to smoke RSO is to combine it with flower, such as adding a rice grain amount to a packed bowl. It also works well in joints and blunts when added to the paper or wrap in horizontal lines. This distribution will help slow the burning of a joint or blunt and allow the RSO to heat without destroying the cannabinoids.

And technically, yes, you can dab RSO. But we recommend only dabbing an RSO purchased from a dispensary with lab test results to ensure no solvents or other potential irritants are present. Note that when RSO is made, the cannabis is decarboxylated when the solvent is burned off, so it may not be as potent as other concentrates, depending on the temperature of your dabs.

Can you cook with RSO?

Yes, you can cook with RSO. Keep in mind that cooking cannabis above 300ºF will burn off the cannabinoids and render the RSO useless. For maximum efficacy, it’s best to add RSO to meals that have already been cooked, or to parts of a meal that don’t need to be cooked, such as a sauce, dressing, or beverage.

RSO regimen

While Simpson recommends taking the oil orally, patients can also administer it in suppository form, using the same dosing guide.

Weeks 1-3: Three small doses every day

Start with a small dose of RSO every eight hours (morning, midday, and night). Each dose should be about the size of half a grain of rice; the first dose will be about ¼ drop of RSO from an oil syringe.

Weeks 4-5: Double your dose every four days

Per Simpson’s recommendation, it takes most patients four to five weeks to reach the full dosage of one gram of RSO per day, starting from half a grain of rice. Patients should still take their doses every eight hours.

Weeks 6-12: A gram a day

Take one gram of RSO a day until you’ve consumed a full 60 grams. This comes out to taking about 8-9 rice-sized drops of RSO every eight hours.

Continued regimen

Once a patient has gotten used to taking a gram of RSO a day and consumed the recommended 60 grams, they don’t need to continue with such high (and expensive) doses. Simpson’s website recommends one to two grams a month to maintain an influx of cannabinoids.

How to make RSO Yourself

This recipe follows Simpson’s own formulation to produce 60 grams of oil. This should be done in an open, well-ventilated area, as the solvent is highly combustible. Avoid all open flames such as stovetops, sparks, lighters, and cigarettes.

Ingredients

1 pound (~450 grams) of dried cannabis (preferably indica strains)

8-9 liters of a solvent (Simpson recommends 99% isopropyl alcohol)

Equipment

Two five-gallon buckets

Electric rice cooker (do not use a slow cooker or Crockpot)

Large wooden spoon or stirring utensil

Funnel

Plastic syringes

Coffee filters or a cheesecloth

Large fan (for ventilation)

Stainless steel measuring cup (optional)

Coffee warmer (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Place all dry cannabis material into one of the 5-gallon buckets. Pour in the solvent until the plant matter is completely submerged.

Stir and muddle the plant material with your wooden spoon while slowly adding the solvent.

Step 2

Once fully incorporated, stir the mixture for about three minutes to allow the THC to dissolve into the solvent. This ideally will infuse about 80% of the THC into the solvent.

Step 3

Strain the plant material from the solvent into the second bucket through the coffee filters or cheesecloth.

Step 4

With the solvent aside, put the plant material back in the first bucket and add more solvent. Continue stirring for another three minutes.

Step 5

Drain the solvent from the plant material into your second bucket again using the cheesecloth and discard the remaining plant material.

Step 6

Pour the solvent, which should now look dark, into the rice cooker until it is about ¾ full. Turn on your rice cooker.

The rice cooker should maintain a steady temperature between 210-230°F (100-110°C), in order to decarboxylate the cannabis and cook off the solvent.

Step 7

The solvent will slowly evaporate with the heat of the rice cooker. Add your mixture to the rice cooker gradually.

Step 8

Once the solvent has evaporated, use the funnels to pack the oil into your syringe for easy dosing. The RSO will be thick like honey, so if you have trouble dispensing it, run the syringe under hot water to ease it.

Managing and Curing Cancer with Medical Marijuana

Supporters of medical cannabis argue that a growing number of organizations, research institutions, and government agencies have explored the relationship between cannabis and cancer. According to this viewpoint, cannabis has the potential to help destroy cancer cells while also serving as an effective therapeutic option for people living with cancer. Advocates further contend that continued opposition to cannabis legalization is influenced more by financial interests than by concern for public health. They question why a natural plant remains controversial while many prescription medications with significant side effects continue to be widely accepted.

Research conducted by organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute has examined the medical properties of cannabinoids. Many studies have focused on understanding whether compounds found in cannabis may affect cancer cells. Supporters believe that, despite this growing body of research, cannabis still receives far less recognition than it deserves for the many ways it may help improve the lives of cancer patients around the world.

The concept of medical marijuana itself is not new. While legal access has expanded only in recent decades, cannabis has been used medicinally for centuries. According to advocates, as public awareness has increased, cannabis has become more widely recognized as a beneficial natural medicine. At the same time, they argue that industries with financial interests in conventional pharmaceuticals may have concerns about the growing acceptance of cannabis. Research into the endocannabinoid system, including the functions of CB1 and CB2 receptors found throughout the bodies of mammals, has contributed to new scientific discoveries and has opened additional possibilities for treating a variety of serious medical conditions.

Many supporters also emphasize the close relationship between humans and the natural world. They believe that nature provides many of the resources needed for healing and that plants have always played an essential role in medicine. Without plant life, human survival would not be possible, while nature itself could continue without humanity. From this perspective, people should value the healing potential that exists naturally before it is overlooked or lost. For many individuals living with cancer, cannabis represents hope. Some people report remarkable improvements, while others experience more limited benefits.

Although many aspects of cannabis and cancer remain under investigation, advocates believe that cannabis not only helps relieve symptoms associated with cancer but may also play a role in targeting cancer cells themselves. They generally consider cannabis to be a natural and safe option for human use. Some supporters further argue that the side effects of conventional cancer treatments, particularly chemotherapy, can be extremely damaging to the body. They point out that chemotherapy destroys rapidly dividing cells, including healthy cells, which may contribute to many of its well-known side effects. Because healthy cells are essential for recovery and overall health, they believe preserving them is an important consideration during cancer treatment.

According to this viewpoint, cannabinoids such as CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) work together by supporting communication between cells and the nervous system. Advocates believe this interaction contributes to normal cellular function, tissue repair, and apoptosis—the body's natural process of eliminating old, damaged, or abnormal cells. Since apoptosis plays an essential role in maintaining healthy tissues, supporters argue that improving this process could be beneficial for people with cancer, whose normal cellular regulation has become disrupted.

They further suggest that when the body's endocannabinoid receptors are supplied with cannabinoids, communication between cells becomes more efficient. In their view, this improved cellular signaling may offer important benefits for cancer patients. Another widely recognized benefit of medical cannabis, they argue, is its ability to stimulate appetite. Because many cancer patients lose their appetite as a result of both the disease and treatments such as chemotherapy, cannabis may help them eat more regularly. Adequate nutrition provides the body with energy and the nutrients necessary to support healing and recovery.

Supporters also point to studies that suggest cannabinoids may have the ability to damage or inhibit cancer cells under certain conditions. They believe that continued scientific research will provide greater understanding of these findings and may eventually confirm observations that some individuals have reported for many years.

Finally, some advocates argue that financial interests have slowed the acceptance of cannabis as a cancer treatment. They believe that the pharmaceutical industry and portions of the healthcare system benefit financially from existing cancer therapies and therefore have little incentive to promote cannabis. Some critics go further by alleging that unnecessary treatments and overprescribing have contributed to problems within healthcare systems. Based on these beliefs, supporters conclude that cannabis deserves full legalization and broader medical acceptance, arguing that this would allow more people to benefit from its therapeutic potential.

From bestselling author Michael Pollan, How to Change Your Mind explores the history, science, and human stories behind substances that challenge perception and reshape consciousness.

Through groundbreaking research, ancient traditions, and deeply personal experiences, the series examines how psychedelics like psilocybin, LSD, MDMA, and mescaline may help heal trauma, depression, addiction, and more.

At the intersection of neuroscience and spirituality, one question emerges:
Can changing your mind… change your life?
How to Change Your Mind

A journey into the frontier of consciousness.

How to Change Your Mind is a documentary miniseries based on the bestselling book of the same name by Michael Pollan, presented and guided by Pollan himself. Over four episodes, the series journeys into the history, science, and cultural impact of psychedelics — including LSD, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), MDMA, and mescaline — exploring how these substances have shaped human thought, culture, and healing practices.

Through expert interviews, historical context, scientific research, and personal narrative, the series examines the origins and controversial legacy of these compounds, from early psychological experiments and counterculture movements to modern clinical studies suggesting potential therapeutic benefits for conditions such as depression, PTSD, and addiction.

As Pollan retraces the evolution of psychedelic research and its resurgence in mainstream science, How to Change Your Mind challenges long-held assumptions about these substances and invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between the brain, consciousness, and healing.

How To Change Your Mind - Chapter 1 LSD

What if the way we think…
isn’t fixed?

For decades, psychedelics were dismissed, feared, and pushed into the shadows.
Now, science is looking again.

From bestselling author Michael Pollan, How to Change Your Mind explores the history, science, and human stories behind substances that challenge perception and reshape consciousness.

Fantastic Fungi

Beneath our feet… lies a hidden intelligence.

A vast living network that connects forests, heals the planet, and may even heal us.

From ancient ecosystems to the frontiers of medicine, fungi are rewriting what we know about life.

See the world through a different lens…
Because the future of humanity may already be growing underground.

Fantastic Fungi is a visually stunning and thought-provoking documentary that takes viewers deep into the hidden kingdom of fungi — one of the most ancient, intelligent, and essential life forms on Earth. Directed by Louie Schwartzberg, the film blends breathtaking time-lapse cinematography, scientific insight, and philosophical reflection to reveal how fungi shape ecosystems, consciousness, and the future of humanity.

Guided by renowned mycologist Paul Stamets, the documentary explores how vast underground mycelial networks function as nature’s internet — connecting forests, recycling nutrients, healing damaged environments, and sustaining life itself. These fungal networks challenge conventional ideas about intelligence, cooperation, and individuality in the natural world.

Beyond ecology, Fantastic Fungi examines the medicinal and therapeutic potential of mushrooms, from immune-supporting compounds to the emerging science of psilocybin in treating depression, trauma, and addiction. Scientists, researchers, and cultural voices discuss how fungi may help humanity address some of its most urgent crises — including climate change, pollution, and mental health.

At its core, Fantastic Fungi is not just a nature documentary, but a meditation on interconnectedness. It invites viewers to reconsider humanity’s relationship with the Earth, suggesting that solutions to our greatest challenges may already exist beneath our feet — quietly growing, networking, and waiting to be understood.
